Oluwo Appeals to Tinubu for Nnamdi Kanu's Pardon

Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, has made an appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to grant a presidential pardon to Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In a statement released through his Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, the monarch emphasized that such a pardon would aid in healing the lingering wounds from the Nigerian Civil War and facilitate the reintegration of the Igbo people into Nigeria.

He praised President Tinubu for his inclusive administration and suggested that a pardon would reinforce the President's image as a detribalized leader. Oba Akanbi acknowledged the serious nature of Kanu's actions that led to his imprisonment but urged the President to consider the broader implications of Kanu's continued detention.

He also proposed the establishment of a panel to address the civil war's effects and promote reconciliation. The monarch expressed hope that Kanu could become an advocate for peace if released, emphasizing that his appeal is not a call for protest but a plea for political intervention.
