Comoros Defeats Sudan 30-0, Faces Super Falcons Next

Comoros achieved a remarkable 30-0 aggregate victory over Sudan in the first round of the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers. The Comorian team, known as the Coelacanth, won the first leg 17-0 on June 3 and followed it up with a 13-0 triumph five days later.

In the second leg, Comoros scored three goals in the first half, leading to a dominant performance that showcased the depth and quality of their attack, with nine different players finding the scoresheet. They will now face Nigeria's Super Falcons, Africa's successful women's national team, in the next round.

The Super Falcons, coached by Justin Madugu, recently defeated Senegal 3-0 in a friendly match at Remo Star Stadium in Ikenne, following a 2-1 win in another friendly the previous week. The second round of qualifiers is scheduled to take place between October 5 and 13, 2026, with two African teams qualifying for the women's football event at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, United States.
