Ondo Council Chair Distributes Educational Materials to Pupils

On Tuesday, following the resumption of schools in Ondo State, Mr. Ayo Ajana, the Chairman of Akoko South-West Local Government Area, distributed educational materials to approximately 1,000 indigent pupils from 55 primary schools. This initiative, part of his Back-to-School program, included 30,000 exercise books and 1,000 school bags, aimed at alleviating financial pressures on parents and encouraging school attendance.

Ajana emphasized that the program represents an investment in children's futures, addressing the economic challenges families face. He urged beneficiaries to utilize the materials wisely and respect their educators.

Comrade Suuru Edward, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in the local government, praised Ajana for prioritizing education, stating that the initiative would ease parental burdens. Mr. Samad Orijeminiyi, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Scholarship, commended the program's potential to combat the issue of out-of-school children, urging other local government chairmen to adopt similar initiatives.
