Ondo Man Arrested for Burning Daughter Over Bed-Wetting

Mr. Paul has been arrested and handed over to the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly assaulting his 10-year-old daughter by pressing a hot iron on her private part as punishment for bed-wetting in Upemen Community, Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State. Dr. Seun Osamaye, the Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, reported this incident after visiting the girl at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where she is undergoing treatment.

The state government, under Governor Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is committed to the welfare of children and has ensured the girl receives necessary medical care, including a second surgery involving skin grafting. The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is underway, with the case being transferred to the gender unit for further action.
