Father Arrested for Burning Daughter Over Bedwetting

A father was arrested in Owo, Ondo State, for allegedly burning his daughter's private part due to bedwetting. The incident was reported to the police, leading to the swift arrest of the suspect by the Divisional Police Officer, Abayomi Jimoh.

The child sustained severe burn injuries and was immediately taken to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Owo for treatment. Jimoh confirmed that the case has been transferred to the command's gender unit for a discreet investigation.

Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, described the act as cruel, inhuman, and completely unacceptable, reaffirming the command's commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society. He urged residents to promptly report any cases of child abuse or domestic violence to the nearest police station, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

The suspect remains in custody pending the outcome of the investigation.
