Man Arrested for Burning Daughter's Private Part in Ondo

Paul was arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly inflicting severe burns on his 10-year-old daughter's private part using a hot iron, following an incident of bedwetting. The event occurred on a Sunday, and the police received a report leading to the arrest on Thursday.

The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo for treatment, where the extent of her injuries was observed. The Commission for Women Affairs in Ondo State has taken up the matter on behalf of the state government.

Abayomi Jimoh, the police public relations officer, confirmed the incident and stated that the case has been transferred to the gender unit for further investigation. Felix Ohagwu, the Commissioner of Police, condemned the act, describing it as cruel and inhuman, and reiterated the command's commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society from abuse and violence.
