NDLEA Appoints Folayemi Adeyemo as Ondo Commander

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) appointed Folayemi Adeyemo Gabriel as the new Commander of the Ondo State command on July 24, 2026. In his new role, Adeyemo pledged to build upon the achievements of his predecessors while implementing intelligence-driven and technology-based strategies to combat drug trafficking.

He emphasized the need for enhanced intelligence gathering, digital investigations, operational efficiency, public enlightenment, and stronger collaboration with relevant stakeholders to address drug-related crimes in the state. Adeyemo noted that drug trafficking networks have increasingly moved to digital platforms, necessitating law enforcement agencies to adopt advanced technological tools for detection and monitoring.

He stated, “Drug traffickers continue to devise new methods to evade law enforcement, so we must constantly improve our strategies.” Under the leadership of the NDLEA chairman and chief executive, officers nationwide are undergoing continuous training in digital intelligence, cyber surveillance, and modern investigative techniques to counter emerging trends in organized drug crimes.
