Fatal Truck Collision on Benin-Ore Expressway Claims One

A road crash on the Benin-Ore Expressway in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State resulted in one fatality and one injury. The accident occurred around 12 pm at the J4 section, involving a white Howo truck with the number plate FSK 274 XA and a blue tractor without a registration number.

According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, three male occupants were involved, with one male adult dead and another injured. Eyewitnesses indicated that the crash was caused by excessive speeding and loss of control by the truck driver.

Emergency services, including TRACE and police operatives, arrived at the scene at approximately 12:20 pm to manage rescue operations and traffic. The injured victims were transported to Hope Hospital, J4, for medical care.

Akinbiyi expressed condolences to the deceased's family and reiterated warnings to motorists against excessive speeding, emphasizing its dangerous consequences.
