Lagos Launches 90-Day AI Animation Stress Test

The Slum Art Animation Hub in Lagos has initiated a 90-day AI animation stress test, marking a significant step in youth empowerment through creative technology. Officially opened on February 26 by founder Adetunwas Adenl, the hub aims to showcase the potential of AI in storytelling and animation.

The project is designed to engage 10,000 children across Lagos, with the goal of setting a Guinness World Record for the largest collaborative animation project. The hub's structure is notable for being built from recycled plastic bottles, emphasizing sustainability and environmental consciousness.

Omoniyi Iyanda, head of CSR initiatives at FCMB, highlighted the bank's commitment to supporting this innovative project as part of their 2026 CSR agenda. The stress test serves as a live laboratory for AI storytelling, aiming to provide African creators with a platform for ownership and global distribution while challenging stereotypes associated with underprivileged areas.
