Former Super Eagles Coach Onigbinde Laid to Rest

Chief Osuolal Bolarinwa Adegboy Onigbinde, the former coach of Nigeria's national football team, the Super Eagles, was laid to rest in Modakeke, Osun State. The burial took place on a Friday, with numerous tributes from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials and former players.

Onigbinde was recognized as the first indigenous coach of Nigeria's senior men's team and notably led the Super Eagles in the FIFA World Cup. Augustin Eguavoen, speaking on behalf of the NFF, acknowledged Onigbinde's tremendous impact on Nigerian football, praising his intellect, hard work, and dedication.

He was the first Nigerian to lead the Eagles to a silver medal at the Africa Cup of Nations and continued to influence the sport even after retirement. Other notable figures, including Dr.

Felix Owolabi and Ambassador Fanni Amun, also paid their respects, emphasizing Onigbinde's mentorship and contributions to football in Nigeria.
