South-West Monarchs to Discuss Security with Sunday Igboho

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, will lead a gathering of South-West traditional rulers to meet with Chief Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho, in Ijero Ekiti, Ekiti State. Scheduled for today, the meeting will be hosted by Oba Adebayo Adewole.

The agenda includes discussions on security in Yorubaland and strategies to maintain peace and stability in the South-West region. The meeting will be presided over by Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria and Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigerian Traditional Rulers Council.

Key topics will include enhancing local security initiatives, particularly the Iru Ekun Security Network, and the involvement of traditional rulers in crisis prevention and dispute management. The gathering will also acknowledge the support from various security agencies, including the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Service, and express gratitude to officials such as National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Minister of Defence Gen Christopher Musa for their contributions to reducing insecurity in Nigeria.
