Operation Hadin Kai Defeats ISWAP in Borno State

On February 20, 2026, Operation Hadin Kai successfully thwarted a coordinated attack by ISWAP fighters in Limankara, Kukawa, Borno State. The operation involved a fierce night-long engagement where alert troops, supported by air components, inflicted heavy losses on the insurgents, forcing them to retreat.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba confirmed that the attack was part of intensified military offensives targeting terrorist hideouts across the region. During the encounter, troops engaged insurgents who attempted to breach a forward operating base, resulting in the destruction of multiple enemy assets.

The military reported the recovery of 13 AK-47 rifles, 16 loaded magazines, and three communication radios, along with evidence of further enemy casualties. Although one soldier was injured and evacuated for treatment, there were no reported losses among military personnel.

Additionally, a separate operation in the Lamusheri village of Gujba led to the neutralization of fifteen insurgents and the destruction of several vehicles used in attacks.
