Police Launch Operation Kosaye Against Kidnappers

The Nigeria Police Force initiated "Operation Kosaye," a joint offensive targeting kidnappers and violent criminals in the forests along the Lagos and Ogun states border. The operation has led to the arrest of 88 suspects, the rescue of five kidnapping victims, and the neutralization of four suspects during encounters with security personnel.

The operation was formally launched at the Nigeria Police Training School in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, by Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojakun, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Both governors commended the operation as a significant inter-state collaboration to tackle insecurity.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasized the importance of intelligence sharing among security agencies to effectively address emerging threats. The operation aims to ensure that criminals have no safe haven within the Lagos-Ogun axis, with ongoing efforts to gather intelligence and monitor potential criminal hideouts.
