OPHK Troops Defeat ISWAP Attack in Borno State

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) successfully repelled an attempted midnight attack by suspected ISWAP terrorists on Gonori, Borno State. The 120 Task Force Battalion detected insurgent movements and swiftly responded to prevent a breach of the military camp.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba reported that the coordinated air and ground assault inflicted heavy losses on the insurgents, who launched their attack late Saturday night. The operation resulted in the deaths of numerous terrorists, with no military equipment lost and the camp remaining intact.

Air assets from the Nigerian Army Aviation joined the operation, conducting precise strikes against retreating terrorists. The aftermath revealed extensive battle damage and a blood trail indicating significant casualties among the insurgents.

OPHK troops recovered several weapons, including a general-purpose machine gun, two PKT machine guns, five AK-47 rifles, and assorted ammunition. Additionally, wounded soldiers were stabilized and received medical care, with clearance operations ongoing to track down fleeing insurgents.
