Troops Thwart ISWAP Mass Abduction Attempt in Axis State

Sani Uba, successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP of civilians from 17 vehicles in Axis State. The troops engaged the insurgents following the attempt to abduct a large number of civilians, including men, women, and children.

A swift and coordinated response from the troops, along with quick reaction forces, allowed them to repel the attack and launch a pursuit towards the Mangari area. During this pursuit, the troops encountered improvised explosive devices, resulting in five personnel sustaining severe injuries, who were promptly evacuated for specialist medical care.

The operation led to the safe recovery of an estimated 150 civilians, who were then moved to Buratai for reuniting with their families. Lt.

Col. Uba highlighted the success of the operation, emphasizing the high level of vigilance and rapid response capabilities of OPHK forces across the northeast, and urged for sustained aggressive posture against terrorist actions.
