Pastor Offers Marriage Incentives for Autistic Daughter

Chibuzor Chinyere, founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), announced plans to arrange a marriage for his 21-year-old adopted daughter, Chiemeka Chibuzor, who has autism. In a Facebook post made on Tuesday, Chinyere outlined a package of financial incentives and welfare guarantees for any man who agrees to marry her.

He emphasized that this arrangement is in the best interest of his daughter, who is described as able to speak and hear. The incentives include lifetime financial support, a free house, and jointly built property in the spouse's name, along with regular unannounced visits from OPM staff to monitor her welfare.

This announcement follows a previous publicized marriage arrangement involving a non-verbal autistic man and an older woman, which raised ethical concerns regarding consent and dignity for individuals with cognitive disabilities. Chinyere responded to the backlash by gifting the man from the earlier arrangement, now named Elijah Lexu, a plot of land and appointing him as an ambassador for the church's free school for children with autism and Down syndrome.
