OPM Founder Arranges Marriage for Autistic Son

Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, founder of Omega Power Ministries, defended his decision to arrange a marriage for his non-verbal autistic son, which took place on a Sunday in Edo. This decision followed widespread reactions on social media, raising concerns about consent and the welfare of disabled individuals.

Chinyere explained that the ongoing challenges of caring for his son, who requires daily support and has behavioral concerns, influenced his decision. The young man had previously attended a specialist school but was withdrawn to avoid expulsion.

During a church service, Chinyere appealed for a mature woman to marry his son to assist in his care. The woman who accepted the proposal described her decision as guided by spiritual insight, having previously rejected other marriage proposals.
