G100 Reschedules Opposition Summit to August 31, 2026

The G100 has announced the rescheduling of its Summit of Opposition Political Parties to Monday, August 31, 2026. This decision was communicated in a statement signed by Salihu Moh.

Lukman on behalf of the G100, following consultations with the six participating opposition parties and members of the Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives. The adjustment was deemed necessary due to the National Peace Summit set for August 18, which will gather leadership and key stakeholders from the involved parties.

The G100 expressed that holding the summit after the National Peace Summit would allow for more thorough internal consultations and preparations. The group noted extensive engagements with the leadership of the opposition parties, highlighting a shared recognition of the importance of collaboration for Nigeria's democracy.

The G100 plans to continue consultations leading up to the summit, developing proposals and frameworks for discussion. Further details regarding the program and venue will be communicated later.
