Opposition Unity Key to 2027 Elections, Says Agbedi

On Monday, at the G100 Summit of Nigeria’s Opposition Political Parties held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, Fredrick Agbedi, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, urged opposition parties to unite in order to build a collective platform for the 2027 elections. Agbedi stated that the Minority Caucus partnered with the G100 to streamline ambitions and work towards "salvaging Nigeria," which he described as suffering under the APC government.

He emphasized that the caucus does not support any specific opposition candidate, prioritizing unity instead. Agbedi encouraged opposition leaders to replicate the political cooperation that led to the defeat of the PDP in the 2015 presidential election, asserting that unity could enable them to achieve similar success.

He also challenged politicians to recognize that not every election results in victory and to make sacrifices for the national interest. Agbedi called on political followers to pressure their leaders to engage actively in the opposition unity process.
