OPSH Hands Over Recovered Arms To National Arms Control Centre

The Special Task Force Operation SAFE OPSH recently handed over a cache of recovered weapons to the National Centre for Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) on August 18. The handover ceremony, which took place at the OPSH Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, was presided over by Major General Folusho Oyinlola, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander of OPSH.

The recovered arms included 84 Dane guns, 66 locally fabricated revolver rifles, 27 rifles, eight locally made rifles, several pistols, shotguns, mortar rounds, and assorted ammunition. Major General Oyinlola emphasized the Federal Government's commitment to combating insecurity and halting the proliferation of illegal arms in communities.

Deputy Abdul Adamu, receiving the arms on behalf of NCCSALW, commended OPSH for disrupting armed criminal networks and reiterated the Centre's dedication to working with security agencies to eliminate illicit weapons.
