The Operation SAFE OPSH Special Task Force in Plateau State handed over recovered arms and ammunition from criminal operations to the National Centre for Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW). The Media Information Officer for OPSH, Samson Nantip Zhakom, stated that the handover took place on August 17, 2025, under the command of Major General Folusho Oyinlola.

General Oyinlola emphasized the importance of recovering these weapons to combat the proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) in the community, in an effort to curb insecurity and violence. The OPSH has had success in recovering a total of 220 small arms and light weapons, along with 1874 rounds of ammunition and 83 cartridges in the year 2024.

The public is urged to support the government's efforts to eradicate illicit arms circulation and promote a safer society.
