Optimus Bank Leads Beach Clean-Up Initiative in Lagos

Optimus Bank mobilized its employees, volunteers, and community stakeholders for a beach clean-up exercise in Lekki, Lagos, as part of its “Protect our coast” campaign, coinciding with World Cleanup Day 2026. The initiative, organized in partnership with Shoreline Euphoria Limited and Reswaye, aimed to combat coastal pollution and promote environmental responsibility.

Participants collected around two tons of waste, including plastic bottles, food packaging, and other marine litter. The collected materials were sorted into recyclable and non-recyclable streams, with recyclable items processed through appropriate channels, while non-recyclable waste was disposed of in collaboration with the Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA).

Dr. Ademola Odeyemi, Managing Director/CEO of Optimus Bank, emphasized the bank's commitment to environmental protection and community resilience. He stated that sustainable impact requires collective action from individuals, businesses, and communities.

The clean-up also allowed Optimus Bank employees to engage directly in addressing environmental challenges affecting coastal communities.
