Osun APC Demands Accountability for ₦14.9bn Security Votes

The Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to provide an explanation regarding the ₦14.9 billion security votes allocated for the Amotekun Corp. The council expressed concerns about reports indicating that Amotekun personnel were assigned duties at private energy facilities in Ondo State.

They highlighted that personnel were deployed to Omotosho Village along the Benin-Ore Road, raising questions about the use of state security resources for private interests. The council referred to the tragic death of Amotekun officer Abdullahi Adedeji, who sustained severe injuries in a motorcycle accident while on duty in Ondo State.

They criticized the management of security funds, arguing that despite the significant amount spent, there is no visible expansion of security assets in Osun. The council emphasized the need for greater transparency and accountability regarding the security expenditures and questioned why Amotekun personnel were protecting private business interests outside Osun State.
