Tinubu Promises Security Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assured the people of Osun State and Nigerians of adequate security during the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. This assurance was made during the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign in Osogbo, where he presented the party's candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that of the 2,339,233 registered voters in Osun, 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected, representing 81.50%. The main contenders for the governorship seat include incumbent Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, and Najeem Salam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Other candidates include representatives from various parties, with Yemisi Adeagbo being the only female candidate. Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, emphasized the importance of voting without fear and urged voters to choose wisely to connect Osun State to the central government.
