Osun State Confirms NURTW Leadership Remains Intact

The Osun State Government issued a statement clarifying that Governor Ademola Adeleke did not dissolve the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state. The executive led by Comrade Wakeel Alowonle is reaffirmed as the only recognized leadership.

This clarification followed a misinterpretation of the State Security Council meeting's outcome, which only suspended NURTW activities in motor parks due to unrest caused by hoodlums. The government emphasized that the suspension did not affect the union's leadership and directed security agencies to remove Kazeen Oyewale, known as Asiri Eniba, and his supporters from the parks.

Governor Adeleke also stated that motor parks should remain open despite the suspension of union activities. The government assured that normal operations would resume once security conditions improve.
