Two Candidates Withdraw, Endorse Adeleke in Osun Election

In a significant development ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, two candidates, Adebayo Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Adedamola Adebayo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have withdrawn from the race and endorsed the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke. The announcements were made separately in Osogbo on Thursday, less than 48 hours before the election.

Adebayo Simon Adewale stated that his decision followed deep reflection and consultations with party leaders and supporters, emphasizing that it was not influenced by external pressure but rather a commitment to the state's welfare. He expressed that Adeleke deserves another term to continue the progress made during his administration and called on his supporters to back Adeleke in the upcoming election.
