Bamidele Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Re-election Victory

The Leader of the Senate and Chairman of the National Assembly South-West Caucus, Bamidele, congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election in the Osun State governorship election. Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, received 511,067 votes, defeating Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 444,815 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salam, finished third with 17,180 votes. Bamidele stated that the election, with a voter turnout of 51.57%, reaffirmed the people's role as the ultimate arbiters in democracy.

He urged all political actors to respect the election outcome and called for reconciliation and inclusive governance. Bamidele emphasized that Adeleke's victory comes with the responsibility to unite the people of Osun State and to engage with all political factions.

He encouraged Oyebamiji to congratulate Adeleke and collaborate on policy ideas for the benefit of the state, while also suggesting that the APC learn from this election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
