Adeleke Declares Work-Free Day for PVC Collection

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has announced that Tuesday, July 28, 2026, will be a work-free day for all public servants in Osun State. This decision aims to facilitate the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 16, 2026.

The announcement was made through a circular issued by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, and applies to workers at both state and local government levels, as well as staff from tertiary institutions. The circular emphasizes the importance of public servants performing their civic duties during the elections.

However, workers in essential services, including medical personnel and security operatives, are instructed to make arrangements to maintain critical services. Governor Adeleke, in a statement from his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, encouraged all registered voters to collect their PVCs promptly, asserting that the upcoming election is vital for the future of Osun State.
