Adeleke Urges Osun Voters to Ignore Threats Ahead of Poll

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke called on residents to disregard threats from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to vote for his re-election on August 15. Speaking at a church service in Osogbo, he accused APC members, including Minister Gboyega Oyetola, of instigating violence against the people due to their rejection.

Adeleke's campaign organization, the Imole Campaign Council, reported the arrest of 46 Accord party leaders, alleging systematic unlawful arrests orchestrated by the APC ahead of the election. He reassured voters of their safety and urged them to come out in large numbers to vote against violence.

Adeleke claimed that his administration's achievements in various sectors would lead to victory over Oyetola and the APC. He emphasized the need for Osun people to assert their rights to vote and be voted for, stating, “We represent the light and we shall overcome darkness.” The resident pastor also prayed for Adeleke's wisdom and success in governance.
