Primate Ayodele Urges Tinubu to Respect Osun Election

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to refrain from influencing the outcome of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15. In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele warned that any manipulation or imposition of a candidate would lead to negative consequences.

He stressed that the election should reflect God's will and the electorate's wishes, cautioning that interference could create a national crisis, particularly with implications for the 2027 presidential election. Ayodele also urged the Inspector-General of Police and the military to ensure adequate security, citing plans by some individuals to instigate violence.

He advised Governor Ademola Adeleke to remain vigilant, predicting a fiercely contested election characterized by money, violence, and manipulation. Additionally, he urged the APC candidate to avoid violence and accept the election outcome in good faith.
