Adeleke Campaign Raises Concerns Ahead of Osun Election

The campaign council for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has expressed serious concerns regarding the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) handling of the upcoming 2026 governorship election. Lere Oyewumi, the director general of the campaign council, urged INEC to avoid lapses similar to those observed during recent elections in Ogun, Oyo, Jigawa, and Ekiti states.

Oyewumi alleged issues such as insufficient ballot paper distribution and the premature thumb printing of ballots. He raised alarms about the potential disenfranchisement of voters due to the withholding of PVCs and emphasized the need for transparency in the electoral process.

The council demanded that INEC address these concerns to maintain public confidence in the electoral system. The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, with fourteen political parties fielding candidates, including Adeleke of the People's Democratic Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, and Dr. Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress.
