NOA Urges Osun Voters to Reject Inducements Ahead of Polls

Larn Issa Onilu, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), called on the electorate in Osun State to resist any attempts by politicians or their agents to compromise their conscience and dignity through inducements before the August 15 governorship election. During a press conference, Onilu emphasized that accepting money in exchange for votes undermines democracy and leads to long-term negative consequences, including poor governance and lack of infrastructure.

He urged political actors to conduct their campaigns responsibly, avoiding violence and intimidation. Onilu also appealed to the youth in Osun State to refrain from participating in political violence and to engage peacefully in the electoral process.

He expressed concern over voter apathy and encouraged all eligible voters to participate actively and peacefully in the elections. Adebiyi Stephen Adefarasin, the NOA Osun State Director, clarified that the agency remains neutral and is focused on civic education ahead of the elections.
