Hoodlums Attack INEC Center in Osun, Steal PVCs

On Sunday, armed hoodlums attacked a center of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) located at Oyinlola DC Primary School in Ward 2, Odo-Otin Local Government Area, Osun State. Approximately 10 armed thugs disrupted the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by firing sporadically into the air, causing chaos among the crowd and allowing them to seize three packs of PVCs.

Eyewitness Gbadebo recounted the incident, stating that people fled in different directions as the attackers targeted the INEC staff's location of the PVCs. The Osun State Police Command confirmed the attack, with Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abiodun Ojelabi stating that Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan condemned the incident and ordered a comprehensive investigation.

The police have intensified efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and recover the stolen PVCs. Political leaders, including Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly Adewale Egbedun, condemned the attack as an assault on democracy and emphasized the importance of protecting voters' rights.
