Osun IPAC Crisis: Faction Demands National Executives' Resignation

A leadership crisis has emerged within the Osun State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), with a faction led by Dr Tosin Odeyemi, the acting Chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance, calling for the immediate resignation of the National Executive Committee. The faction accuses the national leadership of incompetence and bias, particularly regarding the establishment of a caretaker committee without proper consultation.

This committee was formed following the expiration of the tenure of the previous state chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, in February 2026. The group expressed disappointment over the failure to conduct elections after a postponed exercise on March 14, 2026, and criticized the caretaker committee as illegal and politically biased.

They urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend its relationship with the Osun chapter of IPAC until a legitimate leadership is elected, emphasizing the need for a transparent and inclusive electoral process ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
