New IPAC Executive Elected in Osun State

On Monday, fourteen out of the 22 registered political parties in Osun State elected a new nine-member executive for the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) during an election held in Osogbo. The election was conducted through affirmation and monitored by journalists.

Tosin Odeyemi, the chairman of the Democratic Leadership Alliance, was elected as the new Osun IPAC chairman. Other elected members include Prof.

Adigun Adepeju of the African Democratic Congress as Deputy Chairman, Araoye Kazeem of the Action Alliance as Secretary, Adesuyi Olufemi of the Zenith Labour Party as Publicity Secretary, and Mustapha Muideen of the Labour Party as Treasurer. Dr.

Gbenga Afeni of the National Rescue Movement was elected Organising Secretary, while Waheed Adediran of the All Progressives Congress became Legal Adviser. Tayo Adeyemi of the African Action Congress was elected Financial Secretary, and Adebayo Olasunkanmi of the Allied Peoples Movement was elected Deputy Secretary.

Odeyemi stated that 16 political parties participated in the election, emphasizing the need for a functioning IPAC ahead of the gubernatorial election.
