Leadership Clash in Osun Leaves Accord Party Chieftain Dead

Olalekan Ajagungbade, known as Emir and a chieftain of the Accord Party in Osun State, was shot dead in Ile-Ife during a confrontation over control of a motor park on Sunday at approximately 1:20 pm. The incident occurred during a meeting at Mayfair, where Ajagungbade and his associates were attacked by a rival group led by an individual identified as Sibi.

Reports indicate that Ajagungbade was shot in the head during the altercation. Following the incident, police operatives took control of the Mayfair motor park.

Subsequently, the vehicle transporting Sibi and his men was involved in an accident on the Ife-Ibadan Expressway. After news of Ajagungbade's death spread, gunshots were heard in various areas of Osogbo, the state capital, leading residents to remain indoors for safety.

Efforts to contact Abiodun Ojelabi, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
