Oyintiloye Urges Police Neutrality for Osun Election

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, called on the police to remain neutral and effectively deal with troublemakers ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15. In a statement obtained in Osogbo, Oyintiloye urged the Commissioner of Police for the election, Mr.

Samuel Etaifo, to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure a violence-free electoral process. He stressed that the protection of voters should be the police's top priority and that a credible election can only occur in a peaceful environment.

Oyintiloye appealed to political actors, particularly from opposition parties, to avoid violence and encouraged public cooperation with security forces. He expressed confidence that the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, would win the election, describing him as a competent and visionary leader committed to inclusive governance.

The election will feature candidates from 14 political parties.
