Adeleke Invites EU to Monitor Osun Governorship Election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has formally invited the European Union to monitor the forthcoming governorship election, set for August 15. During a meeting with Austrian Ambassador to Nigeria, Peter Guschelbau, Adeleke expressed that the presence of international observers would enhance public confidence in the electoral process and ensure adherence to democratic standards.

He urged the EU to take a special interest in the upcoming elections, highlighting that their involvement would strengthen compliance with the electoral act and promote free and fair polls. Adeleke reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring peaceful and credible elections, providing an enabling environment for stakeholders involved in the electoral process.

He also took the opportunity to discuss investment prospects in Osun State, noting its potential in sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, and technology. Guschelbau expressed optimism regarding the conduct of the elections in line with Nigeria's electoral laws and democratic principles, emphasizing the importance of political stability for sustainable development.
