Adeleke Campaign Urges Monitoring for Osun Elections

Ahead of the Osun state governorship elections, the Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the campaign body of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to the United Kingdom, international observer missions, and civil society organizations to monitor the polls to ensure they are free, fair, and credible. At a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi raised concerns about the Nigeria Police Force in Osun state, alleging that it had become compromised and that the current Commissioner of Police was acting in a partisan manner.

Olajengbesi emphasized the significance of the election for both the state and Nigeria's democratic integrity, describing it as a test for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Inspector-General of Police. He urged the federal government, INEC, security agencies, and international observers to ensure that voters can freely elect their candidates without intimidation or interference.
