IPAC Warns Against Manipulation Ahead of Osun Election

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) issued a warning on Monday in Abuja regarding the upcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15. IPAC National Chairman, Dr Yusuf M.

Dantalle, cautioned political actors and government institutions against using state machinery for election manipulation, emphasizing that the election outcome must reflect the electorate's will. Dantalle condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) freezing of Osun State Government accounts, labeling it politically motivated and detrimental to state administration.

He urged the EFCC to act with caution to avoid punishing innocent citizens. IPAC called for political neutrality from public institutions and condemned the use of government resources to intimidate political opponents.

The council urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the election with professionalism and ensure voters can cast their ballots without intimidation, while maintaining compliance with the Constitution and Electoral Act.
