Davido Reflects on Osun Election Challenges and Support

Popular afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, spoke about the challenges faced by his family and supporters of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, before the August 15 governorship election in Osun. He described the intimidation experienced by members of the Accord Party and stated that forgiving those responsible is hard but necessary for the future of Osun.

Davido expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown to the Adeleke family during the election, revealing that he was emotional on election day. He highlighted his uncle's victory as a model for other political leaders, emphasizing that working for the people leads to their support.

Davido also shared his excitement for the next four years of Adeleke's administration and thanked Osun residents for their loyalty despite the challenges faced during the election. As chairman of the Osun Sports Trust Fund, he announced plans to contribute to youth and sports development, including building a recreation center with various sporting facilities.
