Armed Personnel Surround Osun Speaker's Residence on Election Day

On the day of the Osun State governorship election, the Adeleke Campaign Council raised concerns about the presence of armed security personnel surrounding the residence of the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun. According to a statement from the campaign council's spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the personnel arrived in over 10 black Hilux vehicles and effectively sealed off the residence, preventing those inside from leaving.

The campaign council could not confirm the purpose of this security deployment or whether it was for protection or official duties. They attempted to contact the Commissioner of Police overseeing election security and the Deputy Inspector-General of Police but were unsuccessful.

The council urged security agencies to ensure that their actions did not instill fear or intimidation among residents, emphasizing the need for a peaceful electoral atmosphere. They appealed to the public to remain calm while awaiting an official explanation regarding the security presence.
