Adeleke's Camp Addresses Security Presence in Osun Election

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the campaign organization of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, addressed concerns regarding the heavy presence of military personnel and police officers across the state ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. In a statement issued on Thursday, August 13, 2026, by spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi, the council urged residents not to panic, clarifying that the deployment of security forces was intended to protect lives and property, secure the electoral process, and maintain peace.

The TICC acknowledged the visible presence of security personnel might raise questions but reassured that it was a proactive measure to create a safe environment for voters. The council encouraged residents to participate in the election without fear and to treat security personnel with respect.

It also called for cooperation with security agencies and warned against any activities that could disrupt the election, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and impartiality from the deployed security forces.
