APC Urges Unity After Osun Election Defeat

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a warning to its members against blaming party leaders for the outcome of the August 15 governorship election, where the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord party emerged victorious, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji. Kola Olabisi, the party’s Director of Media and Information, emphasized the need for stakeholders to concentrate on rebuilding the party in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Following the electoral defeat, internal tensions have surfaced, with accusations of poor leadership and political sabotage directed at some party leaders. The Osun APC criticized the blame game, stating it could exacerbate the crisis rather than resolve it.

The party acknowledged the disappointment among its supporters but cautioned against attacking individuals who contributed to the party. Additionally, the Osun APC Stakeholders Forum publicly blamed former governor Gboyega Oyetola for the defeat in an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, expressing disappointment despite his support.
