Otti Visits Nigerian Breweries After Fire Outbreak in Aba

On Friday, Abia State Governor Alex Otti made an unscheduled visit to the Nigerian Breweries Plc facility in Aba after a fire outbreak occurred on Thursday at approximately 3:20 PM. The fire was contained by 6:00 PM and reportedly affected empty crates without bottles, with no casualties recorded.

During his visit, Otti praised the timely intervention of the Abia State Fire Service, which helped prevent further damage. He expressed gratitude that the incident did not cause severe stress and emphasized the importance of being prepared for emergencies.

Otti initially did not realize the involvement of Nigerian Breweries due to the location of the facility but later acknowledged their distance from the incident site. He assured the administration's commitment to providing an enabling environment for businesses in the state.

The governor was accompanied by the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.

Emmanuel Emeruwa, and other senior government officials. Benjamin Okor, Chief Engineer at Nigerian Breweries, clarified that the affected area was not part of the main brewing plant.
