Oxygen X Launches Backyard Farming Initiative for Women

Oxygen X, a financial company, has launched a sustainable backyard farming initiative to promote financial inclusion among women in underserved communities in Lagos State. This initiative is part of a strategic move to bridge the gap in digital lending and empower grassroots economies.

The program specifically targets women aged 18 and above and integrates agricultural support with financial literacy. In partnership with the Lagos Food Bank, beneficiaries will receive a comprehensive business box that includes a poultry kit, which contains a poultry cage, point-of-lay chicks, feeders, essential medical supplies, and antibiotics.

The initiative emphasizes long-term viability through rigorous training, equipping participants with the tools to manage credit responsibly and scale small-scale poultry ventures. Emmanuella Awogu, head of marketing at Oxygen X, stated that financial inclusion goes beyond access to credit; it combines business tools and financial education to enable women to build sustainable livelihoods and strengthen their communities.

The program aligns with the company's mission to redefine lending within the Nigerian ecosystem.
