Oyetola Condemns Violence in Osun Post-Election Clashes

Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of Osun State, condemned the post-election violence occurring in Osun State. In a statement posted on his X handle on Tuesday, he expressed deep concern over the violence and loss of lives, urging security agencies to swiftly apprehend those responsible for the killings.

Oyetola condemned the attacks as a serious threat to peace and democratic values, stating that no political ambition could justify taking a human life. He extended condolences to the families of victims and called for the deployment of adequate security personnel to volatile areas.

Oyetola also appealed to stakeholders and residents to exercise restraint and resolve disputes through dialogue, emphasizing that the progress of Osun should not be sacrificed for political interests. His statement followed reports of violence in the state, including an incident in Ikire where two people were feared killed during a clash over control of a motor park.
