Olubadan Urges Security Boost in Oyo After Kidnappings

Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has called on President Bola Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure adequate security for communities sharing borders with the Old Oyo National Park. This request follows a serious security incident where 39 students and seven teachers were kidnapped on May 15, 2026, in Oriir Local Government Area.

Ladoja emphasized the necessity of proactive measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents. He made this statement available to the media through aide Adeola Oloko.

The former governor noted that the recent abductions should prompt the government to take serious actions to secure the affected communities. He also highlighted the importance of rehabilitating the victims who were rescued subsequently, marking it as a significant achievement for the current administration in the country.
