Oyo CP Abimbola Enhances Campus Security with NANS

On Monday, Oyo State Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Abimbola assured the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) of strengthened security measures around tertiary institutions in the state. This commitment was made during a meeting at the police command headquarters in Ibadan, where NANS representatives, including National Financial Secretary John Alao, were present.

Abimbola emphasized the importance of student safety in educational institutions, stating that it is non-negotiable. He outlined plans for intensified intelligence gathering, routine patrols, and rapid response operations to combat cultism, robbery, kidnapping, and other criminal activities that could disrupt academic pursuits.

The police force remains dedicated to collaborating with student bodies to ensure a secure learning environment. Alao commended Abimbola for his exemplary leadership and proactive strategies, reinforcing the need for intelligence sharing and peaceful coexistence between students and police.

This engagement is part of a nationwide initiative to enhance the protection of Nigerian students ahead of the new academic session.
