Oyo Government Criticizes Exclusion of Governor Makinde

On Monday, the Oyo State government expressed discontent over the exclusion of Governor Seyi Makinde from the flag-off ceremony of the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road, held in Oluyole Local Government Area. The event was attended by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, APC gubernatorial candidate Sarafadeen Alli, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, released a statement criticizing the decision, suggesting it stemmed from political motives and a lack of wisdom. He pointed out that the rationale behind not inviting Governor Makinde, citing his leave, was flawed since there was an Acting Governor in place.

Oyelade noted that Governor Makinde remains unfazed and lamented that the event had devolved into a political spectacle. He asserted that the political landscape for 2027 is already being shaped, and no political maneuvering will deter the people's will.
